Dogfish, Greater Spotted aka Bull Huss aka Nursehound

Post by TimOH »

So, what is the Bull Huss (as most members call them)? The Huss is a member of the catshark family and rather than copy information from elsewhere I'll link it below.

More information on the status, distribution, rigs and techniques. http://britishseafishing.co.uk/bull-huss/

So what's the difference between a Huss and a dogfish, apart from the large spots and the large spots aren't always there? Here's the easy way to tell them apart.
Dogfish - line from nostrils runs into mouth

Huss - line from nostrils to a flap parallel with the mouth

IKAs #1 Butterfish, Chub, 3 and 15 Spined Stickleback Angler. Sure anyone can catch a ferox trout.
