Rod;My set up is a 50lb class rod, A decent multiplier or large fixed spool reel, an 8000 size or bigger. I use a 990 dam quick royal and a fin nor offshore. Line; 80lb braid or 60lb mono. Nice piece Dave, plenty of good advice. I was always surprised how slow they needed a trolled bait trolled for a successful hit. Yet they can hammer a copper spoon being spun at least three times faster.

A few lads had megrim in keem bay and in donegal bay. Normally the whiting beat them to the baits.
