About

Unless the fish is being kept for bait or the table we are a Catch, Photo, and Release Club.

At Irish Kayak Angling Club we’ve assembled a team of Irelands top Kayak Anglers to bring you information and insights into this exciting and growing sport. We have people from all walks of life registered on our Forum and willing to share their experiences and answer your questions.  Just read a few Catch Reports to see their passion for angling and willingness to share their experiences to save others learning the hard way.

Established in 2010 the club is run by volunteers, the original founder members (Admin/Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Safety Officer and Competition Officer) and 6 Elected Moderators (elected by members annually by on-line poll).

While the Club has in excess of 1,000 members voting on Moderators and Competitions is restricted to those who actively post on the Forum, i.e. those who contribute to the Club and assist others.

There is no annual subscription to the Club, membership is free, the club is dependent on sponsorship and Sponsors are displayed on the site.  Membership packs including badges and stickers are available for a fee here.

Our Forum is the heart and soul of the Club.  You’ll find everything you need to start your journey as a Kayak Angler or, if you’re already there, the information to catch the fish you seek.

We value participation and encourage it so are always glad to hear from you. There are 6 formal meets around Ireland every year with a number of informal meets.  If you’re interested in fishing from a kayak call to see our members before you buy.

Our Forum is Moderated.  Many of us have been members of unmoderated forums in the past so inappropriate behaviour is not tolerated.  If members note an issue they are welcome to bring it to the attention of a member of the Moderator Team. Club Rules and Constitution are on the Forum.

The Moderators and Founding Members reserve the right to edit, remove or put on moderation queue any post at any time. Please note that currently any very first post is automatically placed in the moderation queue and will be approved/disapproved according to the present Rules. The determination of what is construed as indecent, vulgar, spam, etc. as noted in these points is up to Elected Moderators and not users.

Neither any Officer nor Committee member shall be liable to any member or guest of a member for any loss of or damage to any property occurring from whatsoever cause in or about any organised Club events, nor any injury sustained by any member or guest in or about any organised events. Members attend meets and events at their own risk and are responsible for their own insurance, personal and third party.
